Placing lights

Select a light and its settings show several ways to move it. Use whichever feels easiest; they all change the same light.

Around the model and Height

Around the model walks the light in a circle around the model: left, front, right or behind. The light keeps its distance and stays aimed at the model while you slide. Height raises or lowers it. This is the quickest way to try a light from different sides and watch the shadows change.

Place source from

Place source from jumps a light to a common position in one step: left front, right front, left rear, right rear or above.

Aim in image

Choose Aim in image and click any visible spot on the model, the floor or the background. The light turns to point there. Press Escape to cancel.

Setup view and precise placement

Setup view shows the scene from above and outside the camera. Move source and Move target give you handles to drag the light itself or the point it aims at. Camera takes you back to the photograph. For exact values, open Precise placement and type the source and target positions in meters.

The model can be turned and moved as well: open Model in the Advanced view. Next: looks, saving and export.
