Choosing a picture

Drag in a JPG, PNG or WebP, or pick one from your computer. The better the Lab can see the face, the more useful the result.

What works best

• A clearly visible face, head and shoulders or closer.
• Enough resolution to see detail in the eyes and skin.
• Little in the way: no hands, sunglasses or heavy hair across the face.
• A face that is not almost black or blown out to white.

With several faces in the picture, the Lab reads the largest one. Heavy retouching, strong color grading or blown highlights can make the reading less accurate.

Where your picture goes

The picture is analyzed in your own browser and is not uploaded. It only leaves your computer if you later save Archive work that includes it.
