Moving objects and looking around
Moving objects
Drag an object to move it across the floor. Hold Shift while dragging to move it up or down. Objects stop against walls and pillars and slide along them, just as they would in a real room. Models and light stands can stand close together, so you can put a light right next to a person.
Click an object to select it. Its settings appear in the Inspector on the right. Double-click an object to bring it into view.
The Place tab
Direction turns the object. Move and Rotate show handles in the 3D view. Place on floor puts it back on the floor, and Place on surface lets you click a table or shelf to put it on. Height, Rotation and Proportional size take exact values, and Lower, Raise, Left and Right change them in small steps.
Exact position gives X, Y and Z fields and steps of 1 or 10 cm along the room axes. Reset object restores the original size and rotation without moving it.
The Object tab
Name sets the name used in the Set List and on the print. Focus object brings it into view, Circle around it lets you drag the view around it, and Look through shows the set through a photo camera. Lock keeps an object from being moved by accident, Duplicate makes a copy and Delete removes it.
Looking around
Drag empty space to look around. Scroll to move closer or farther; near objects it becomes more precise. Right-drag or middle-drag to slide sideways.
Click the 3D view first to use the keyboard. W, A, S and D walk, Q and E go down and up, and Shift moves faster. F frames the selected object and Shift+F focuses on the detail under your mouse. R brings everything you placed into view.
View at the top has View whole set, Focus model, Save view and Return to saved view. Focus model (or M) gives a front view at eye level of the selected model, or of the model nearest the middle of the screen.
Grid and Measure
Grid shows a floor grid, and Align to grid makes objects snap to it in steps from 25 cm to 2 m. Choose Metric or Imperial there too. Measure measures a distance: click a start point and an end point in the 3D view.
