Building your set
Placing objects
The Library groups everything by category: Models, Continuous Lighting, Flash Lighting, Light shaping, Camera, Backdrops, Equipment, Furniture, Props & decor and Plants. Click a category to open it, then click an object and click the floor where it should go. You can also drag an object straight into the set. Escape cancels.
Type in the search field to look through all objects at once. Press / with the 3D view active to jump to the search. The star on an object adds it to Favorites, and Recent lists what you placed last. S, M and L change the size of the pictures.
Models marked Poseable can be posed.
Continuous Lighting holds lights that burn all the time, such as LED heads and spots. Each one shows the class of its light source, so you can compare a small LED with a large one. Flash Lighting holds the same softboxes, umbrellas, beauty dishes and reflectors as studio flash heads, with their energy in watt-seconds (Ws). A light keeps the type you chose: to change it, place the other version. See Flash, TTL and HSS.
Presets
Presets offers five ready-made portrait setups. In a room that already has objects, Studio asks before it replaces them, and Undo brings them back: Soft portrait, Moody Rembrandt, Beauty, Fashion rim and Classic three-light. Each one has its own model, lights and reflectors, with a small sketch that shows where everything stands. The first time you load one it can take a few seconds, and a progress meter shows how far it is.
Daylight
Outside sets the light coming through the windows. Choose Day, Overcast, Evening or Night, then fine-tune Outside light. Sun switches direct sunlight on or off, and Sun direction and Sun height move it, so the window patterns fall where you want them.
Set List
Set List at the bottom left of the 3D view lists everything you placed. Click a name to select that object. You can hide an object there without deleting it, for example the photo camera.
Undo, redo and Freezes
Undo and Redo at the top step back and forward through your changes. Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y do the same (Cmd on a Mac).
Freezes keeps up to five quick snapshots of your setup, so you can try something and jump back. Freezes are temporary and belong to this scene. Use Save to the Archive to keep a setup for good.
